My mother is to have a whipple performed on April 11. Only symptoms are weight loss of 30 lbs over two years and a blocked bile duct which was corrected with a stent placement during the ERCP test. Also found were some gall stones, some of which were removed during the ERCP. The recommendation for the Whipple was made on the 'suggestion' of a lesion on the head of the pancreas found during the ERCP. My mother is accepting of the fact for surgery and seems prepoared for whatever happens. I am not. Please respond ASAP with thoughts, suggestions, ideas. It has been impossible to discuss this with the surgeon who will do the procedure. My mother is in otherwise good health and her heart is apparently strong enough to withstand the ordeal. Thanks.
