Denise, Im very sorry about your fiend. Does she have mets to any other organ in the body? I was diagonsed with PC/mets to the liver in 1997. Surgery was not offered to me. I was put on Gemzar (chemo) right away. My cancer cell before chemo was 34,000 -- high. Try to find out your friends cancer cell count. By Dec. of that year my cell count dropped to 104 and kept dropping. The cancer in the tumor on my liver is gone. All that shows is scare tissue. Now I know cancer could return, but right now it's gone in the tumor. You will find a lot of help on this board. It would help if I had more information about your friend. PLEASE LET ME HEAR FROM YOU. Best Wishes, KAY S.
