Shoshanna,I have been reading your postings and I'm sorry you & your husband have to go through this. I know how much it would mean to you if you could just get some control over the situation. My mom has Stage IV p.c. with a lot of liver involvement. After her laproscopy, she began losing weight rapidly, had absolutely no appetite, had pain, bloating, you name it. She started on Gemzar two weeks later, and it took three weeks to stabilize her. From the fourth week on, she started gaining weight, had no pain, and got a little sparkle in her eyes back. Mentally, it helped all of us. However, I know it's not a miracle drug and we haven't had the follow-up CT scan yet. I wish you the best. Hang in there; it's very difficult but you'll be glad you did everything humanly possible to beat this.
