I don't profess to know very much about PC, my dad had it for 10 days. He was diagnosed last year just before thanksgiving. We were told that it was hopeless and he had maybe 4-6 months. After a week the cancer was found to have spread to his heart, kidneys, and liver. My mom called me and frantically told me that he was having congestive heart failure and the doctors said he only a few hours. In the next two hours we had to get his will and re-execute and notarize it because it was done incorrectly. I had to type a 'retirement' letter for my father so that he could retire before he died because the benefit to my mother would be greater. We had to get a power of attorney signed. I was on two cell phones at once calling a notary, the benefits office, his office, my attorney. The hospital room was chaos. Doctors were there, the a notary was there, witnesses, family members. I literally lifted my dad's arm so that he could sign all of these papers. My father is dying right before my eyes, the hospital room was a circus, and I couldn't even talk to my him because I was too busy...I had to look out for mom. Luckily, my father stabilized and lived for another 3 days. For two of those days he was very alert and we had some very long talks together. My dad even selected his own pallbearers. The cold reality is that nothing is guaranteed. Take it from me, organize.
