Laurie, sorry to bother you again, but I had another thought after I reread your posting- Is your brother in law in a large teaching hospital? It's absolutely imperative that he has the opinions of surgeons and oncologists who specialize in pancreatic cancer specifically. It's a very difficult cancer to deal with and chances are not very good to start with. You can't jeopardize them with people who don't have experience in this cancer. The nonsense they told you made me add this message.
