Since I'm feamle I don't get a PSA, but my husband has. I get a CA19-9 about every 4 weeks. I have PC. The test gives me and my doctor a cancer cell count or some call it tumor marker. I don't beleive that a CA19-9 is used to daigonse PC. What the test does for me is tell the doctor how affetctive my chemo is. I have been on Gemzar since Sept. of 1997. Gemzar has been very good to me so far. Before chemo my cell count was 34,000. In three months it dropped to 104 and kept dropping. The cancer in the tumor on my liver was gone after 5 months -- checked out with CT scan and ultra sound. Best Wishes, K.P.S.
