I agree that it is unusual to have a metastasis to the spine and not in other organs.

My Mom was initially diagnosed with Stage 4, and had mets to her spine, but she also had lots of mets in more traditional places (eg. liver, peritoneum, lungs etc..).

How large is her pancreatic mass? I would also be curious about that isolated spine lesion. Was it hot on the PET scan? Not everything that is hot on PET scan is cancer.

I would consider biopsy of the 'met', and get a second opinion if they refuse. What do you have to loose? The difference in staging means so much....
