As far as physically, you can't really predict how it will be because I think it varies widely based on how and where the cancer spreads and the individual person. My mom and brother both passed away from PC, and the experiences were very different, but both included multiple hospitalizations. Ultimately, my brother's liver function declined and he went into kidney failure. My mom developed multiple bowel obstructions from the tumors spreading within her abdomen. So no one can really say what will happen, but my take away from both was that pain management is likely to be very important. So having a doctor/organization like hospice involved that understands and knows what is needed, will be very helpful.
