I am now 3 weeks post op. It was an 8 1/2 hour surgery done laprascopically. My pathology came back 1cm mass, clean margins and no lymph node involvement. I was told that I am a 1 percenter and the cancer was staged at 1A. Clearly a testament to early screening. I am about the begin a 6 month course of folfirinox followed by 5 weeks of radiation. My surgeon who I trust 150%, feels that this is my best change of being cancer free 15 years from now. I feel I have a unique perspective as I was the daughter of a pancreatic cancer patient and now I am the patient with daughters. My girls now have the tools to be their own advocates and hopefully their futures will be brighter.
