Hi George Although I understand you wanting to be rid of something that may progress to deadly cancer, I would seriously consider waiting based on my experience. My experience with having a whipple has been awful at best. I was much younger than you and healthy but had multiple complications after. Others may have done better??

I was unable to eat for months. I was failure to thrive for about 2 years. Iíve been able to regain 10 pounds after 3 years but not more than that. I live with chronic abdominal pain and severe diarrhea even with Creon and other meds. Because of the effects of the surgery I am completely disabled.

Itís a hard surgery. Do as much research as possible if you are considering it. Itís not anything like they described before the surgery that I would be back at work after 3 months. Maybe you will have a better outcome. Good luck with your decision.
