I am new to this board and appreciate the compassion shown here. I was diagnosed with a side branch IPMN (incidental finding). The cyst is 1.8 cm and stable, the cytology appears good, a DNA test showed it being unremarkable. The question I have is whether this cyst type can be removed as one would a cyst in the colon or would one need major surgery such as 'whipple.' Frankly, while I understand I have the option of monitoring it, I would rather have it taken out. I am 64 and, otherwise, in good health. Any feedback anyone could provide would be deeply appreciated. Many thanks. We hope someday to conquer P.C.
