In regards to the sundowning diagnosis was it a diagnosis of exclusion (did they rule everything else out) or a diagnosis of convenience (donít know what else it could be and this satisfies the dr)? What is the reason behind no consult to neuro or other specialists? If you want this youíll have to be very adamant about your reasons. Ask them how many patients have they seen with sundowning and how did they come to this diagnosis. Ask them why they donít think thereís another cause for her behaviour.

She should be given Reglan to help with the gastroparesis. It will move the food. Creon will help digest. Just be aware reglan does have mental side effects.

Youíre in a tough place cause everyone wants to give their opinion. The best defense you can have is to get medical information that will help you challenge anyone from preventing you from getting answers and resolution. Look up info on uptodate and pubmed. Write back if you have any more questions.
