so mom saw a surgeon today at Hopkins. He said there is a 10% chance that whipple surgery will work for my mom. she is stage 3 with part of the tumor wrapped around the main vessel to the liver. she wants to go for the surgery. i am scared to death that she will have the surgery and die soon after. when she has had chemo the tumor did not grow or spread. i want to support her but i am scared to death that the surgery with only a 10% chance of it working she is going to die sooner than later. i keep trying to tell her that she should continue with chemo, immunotherapy and radiation. has anyone else had a similar experience?
