Iíve just found out I have a 2 x 1.5 cyst on tail of my pancreas. Iím currently waiting results from the biopsy via endoscopy ultrasound done last week. Dr said he drained the cyst and took some fluid to biopsy. He also said it had a solid component so he took that to biopsy as well. I went to the ER the week before with excruciating pain on my left side under my ribs. It wasnít radiating to my back like a normal cause of pancreatis. It was constant and my abdomen hurt a bit as well although not as bad. It hurt to breathe and if I ate a few bites it hurt badly as well. When I went to hospital to get my endoscopy done they couldnít do it because my stomach hadnít dumped the food from the day before yet(I stilricky follwed the jonfood or water after midnight rule) so they couldnít proceed. They put me on clear liquid diet and then weíre able to do the procedure the following morning. Iím wondering if the lack of my stomach emptying is due to issues with my pancreas or could that be a completely different problem? Does it sound like I may have to have the distal pancreatectomy surgery? Iím very nervous, Iím 45, mother of 5 kids (23,20,18,15 and 10) and have recently lost 80 lbs and been working out 5-6xís per week since January. I was excited about my future and now Iím scared. Any thoughts or comments are greatly appreciated. Thanks!
