I had whipple where they took the head of pancreas, bile ducts, gallbladder, duedenum, and half my stomach. If u are having this whipple then be prepared for a long struggle of a recovery. It took a year before I really started getting back to it and I was 38 years old when I had that surgery. My hospital stay was a week long and as soon as I got home my drains started filling up fast so it was back to the hospital for two more weeks because of bile leakage. Then was sent home with home health nurse visits 3 times a day for two weeks. But having said all that I am very happy to have had the surgery because I would already be in heaven if I hadnít had it. God Bless
