my grandmother- age 71, relatively healthy throughout her life, (diabetic);
was diagnosed 3 weeks ago with pancreatic cancer. She currently lives in
Mexico, after 2 failed endoscopic attempts to place a stent to drain some
fluid and obtain a biopsy to stage her cancer, went through a 3rd surgery
this morning, where the doctors tried a 3rd surgery. Unfortunately they were
not able to do much, due to the size of the tumor. They identified that the
size was now around 8cm. Starting at the head of pancreas, which is
obstructing areas of the stomach and intestines.
The doctors notified us that based on their findings, the only option is to
keep her stable, and manage the pain that they forshadow occurring within the
next few days.
My questions, due to the size of the mass, is this the best prognosis?
Anything that me or my family should know about, ask or comment on?
We are preparing ourselves for the worst, the doctors have now shared that
its only a matter of time before she passes.
Anything that we can do to support my grandmother? Things that we should
Blessings and appreciation
