She also had difficulties with eating. What helped somewhat, was for someone to eat with her; usually me since I was her caregiver. I would only put a small amount of food on her plate so it would not appear to be overwhelming. We would listen to music and chat about everything under the sun. I would eat SO SLOWLY, so she would not feel rushed. I also agree with another poster that whatever the person would like to eat; let them. I made puddings with 2% milk and homemade soups where I would puree a cooked chicken breast. Whatever my mom felt like eating...that's what she received. It takes patience and time; but it is so worth it. Blessings to you both during this hard time.
