Your husbands story is very encouraging. I was diagnosed with stage 3 pancreatic cancer in the center of the pancreas in 2/2018 and have just finished 6 rounds of chemo. I just spoke with a surgeon who suggested removing the entire pancreas due to the fact that the tumor is in the middle section and is close to a major artery. It sounds like your husband had a very difficult few years but has survived 14 years without his pancreas and done pretty well. I have not been told by any other surgeon that they would recommend removing the entire pancreas. What has been your husbands quality of life since having it removed (i.e. eating, diabetes, functioning in general ) Bless you both and you both have a great outlook.
