Which other blood tests are important? I am going for my 3rd CT scan / CA19-9 test on Monday and meeting with the surgeon and the oncologist on Tuesday.
In the first two CT scans, they have found that the tumor is basically the same size as when first discovered in November and the CA19-9 has gone down from about 34,500 to 3,300. I would not be surprised if they find that the tumor has still not changed size and that my CA19-9 is above 2,000.
In talking with my oncologist after a past set of tests, she also noted that they look at more than these two indicators, but I forgot to ask which other indicators that are important.
Any suggestions on questions to ask would be helpful.
PS ~ so far, I have no noticeable effects from my cancer and it has not
spread beyond the pancreas, but it is nestled up against my small intestine
and has been too close to the splenic vein and the splenic artery to operate.
