I am so sorry to hear this difficult news. It is just too much.

There is a really excellent clinical trial that you should ask the doctors about. It has been mentioned on this board before. It is only for advanced cancer, like you describe. They look at a piece of the tumor and do genetic analysis of the tumor DNA. Based on the abnormal mutations they find in the tumor, they match you will a new targeted treatment specifically for tumors with that genetic mutation. The drugs are very expensive, but free when you are in the trial, and in many cases this trial is the only way to try them.

The trial is the NCI (National Cancer Institute

Does your loved one have Palliative Care doctor helping them at this juncture? With multiple cancers that have spread, this doctor may be the most important one for making life as good as possible, and as long as possible. Ask the oncologist if there is a Palliative Care doctor that you can work with while pursuing clinical trials.

One day at a time. Hang in there, and good luck.
