But honestly, it does not sound like pancreatic cancer. You can breathe a little easier.
Early weight loss is not typical for PC. By the time you start losing weight, the cancer is quite advanced and more easily visible on CT scan.
Constipation is not a typical presenting symptom for PC. This is really, really common with aging.
If you had a similar episode 3.5 years ago, even less likely this is PC or any type of cancer.
Ankle edema (swelling) is not a typical sign of pancreatic edema. When pancreatic cancer is very advanced and widespread, some people develop swelling in the belly, and then sometimes in the ankles. But you would never see this because of pancreatic cancer so small it isn't seen on CT scan.
If I were you, I would not be worried about pancreatic cancer. I would continue to have age appropriate cancer screening for prostate cancer (prostate exam, maybe check PSA test) and colonoscopies as your doctor recommends.
For the next few weeks, keep careful track of your diet using a program like myfitnesspal so you know exactly what you are eating. Then record your symptoms and see if they correlate at all with things you are eating.
I would see a gastroenterologist and see if any testing for food allergies would be appropriate, if you should be using a probiotic, what is contributing to your constipation and if any other systemic problems could be contributing to your symptoms. Ask if you couAnd I would see a nutritionist that works with the gastroenterologist to review your diet in detail and get nutritional recommendations.
Your primary care doctor should also continue to follow you closely.
Sometimes we don't always get the answers we need. Sometimes with aging we collect a lot of problems that aren't necessarily related.
