I live in a large western city in the U.S.
I have felt ill for just about 3 months. I am getting worse. My PCP feels he has done an adequate job addressing my symptoms which originally were not unusual. Blood pressure medication changes due to higher bp. But he does not have a clue regarding this, but agrees a GI referral is in order. So of I go.
I believe I began to lose weight sometime around 10/25/17, but am not exactly sure. Over 3 months I have lost at least 20 pounds. Ivíe had to drop down a pant size and itís still loose. The same for shirt size. So may be more. Over the last two years Iíve had noticeable edema on several occasions in the ankles and feet.
Recently in the last 2 months Iíve had a colonoscopy and a contrast CT which were both reported as normal. The CT was an abdominal IV contrast one. The colonoscopy was to rule out colo rectal cancer and the worsening constipation.
I now am having stomach issues and constipation which is only responsive to Miralax. I am getting weaker every day. I am scheduled to see a GI doc on Feb 12. My wife refuses to believe this is life threatening. I had a similar incident 3.5 years ago. I recovered from that and have felt reasonably well since that time, although I have never forgotten the experience. The GI that I will be seeing is the same individual who I saw the initial time.
The above is a true story with no fabrication. I am a 65 year old male in reasonable health otherwise. Iím not suggesting a diagnosis here, but if you are me what else might you do? Iím dead serious here.
I feel bloated and have recently had transient pain in the abdomen.
This is a nightmare.
