Great that you are going to file a complaint. People need to know when they need to improve.
Thanks for the well wishes. I am 70 years old and no one in my family has ever had pancreatic cancer, as far back as we can find.(I did a health genealogy with my medical genetic counselor.) And, we have had very little cancer at all through all my siblings (12), cousins, uncles and aunts and my grandparents. I am also a non-smoker, a non-drinker, and have a BMI of 24ish. I took a gene test of 80 genes and there is no genetic disposition. (Only 1 gene was variant, and it is of unknown/uncertain significance.) Mine is truly one of the random cases.
The chemos have been extremely easy on my body. While I totally lost all my head hair after the first chemo, the mustache is only a bit thinned and the eyebrows are still intact after 4 chemos. I am getting the most aggressive level that they can give based on my body surface area.
I have had no nausea whatsoever, only a bit of neuropathy -- with the nose being the worse (I have a long Norwegian nose, according to my great aunt). There has been no loss of appetite, only a bit of loss of strength, no noticeable fatigue, and no mental anxiety or worry. I am as enthusiastic about life as before -- maybe even more so. For example, I did a lot of research work when I was employed. I am now scanning the professional literature for some of the issues related to my situation and looking for researchers to fund to see if answers can be found.
Inside, the blood numbers are down, but generally acceptable. One chemo was delayed a week due to low platelets, but the other blood parameters have never been an issue. I am force-feeding myself more protein and iron.
I would say that I am an extreme outlier on all this, and nobody should try to compare my experience with theirs. We are all so, so different.
My best to you!!
