Don't feel like you are a cry baby. 8mm is so small but anyone of us would have been ecstatic to have such a small lesion. Of course we would prefer not to have any lesion. You are lucky even if you don't think so. Surgery is scary and pancreas cancer is even scarier so no you are not a cry baby.

I had the whipple but know someone who had the surgery distal pancreatectomy. I'm assuming that's what your having. He was much older than me and has done extremely well except for diabetes which I think he had prior to diagnosis. He returned to his normal life of work etc. keep on asking Drs questions until your satisfied with the answers.
