I was given pre-filled pens so I don't know how much was in them. My opinion is that a once a month injection is preferable to a single daily injection. For me, the pain lasted only as long as it took to insert the needle and pull it out. No pain after that. The once a month injection is done by a nurse. I t does cause me to say ouch! a couple times. I used to dread the daily injections that I gave myself. I don't know if daily injections are still done. Mine were a long time ago before there was a monthly injection.
