I took Octreotide the first time I had my pnet. I gave myself one shot every night in my upper leg at 10 pm. It stopped the diarrhea. After surgery the cancer went away but came back 2 more times. I have it now that I am 73. I took Sandostatin Lar for a couple years this time which is an extended version of Octreotide. It is a long needle shot given in the rear end at my doctor's clinic. It again stopped the diarrhea. Now I get another shot in my rear that causes constipation. And recently I started another drug that causes diarrhea so the two problems will have to fight it out.
