I did not elect to have my pancreas removed due to quality of life issues ( because of my personal situation & no cancer cells found during EUS procedure) . However my pancreas seems not to be working at full throttle as of late. Very low Lipase levels. I too suffer from cramping, but it feels more like labor contractions, which last for about 5 days. The contractions occur every 3 to 4 minutes apart and continues 24/7 until they finally subside on their own. It is so frustrating trying to get the doctors or nurses to understand that it isn't the type of pain that can be corrected with muscle relaxers. It is horrible because you're unable to sleep the entire time. I do understand your dilemma and wish I had words of wisdom, if I should find the solution in the future I will make sure to let you know. As of late within the past couple of days my doctor found that my tumor markers are at 802. They should not be any higher than 36.8. I have not had the courage to investigate what this means. The name of the test was CA-19-9. Not sure if that is connected to the cramps.. hope everyone concerned feels better and finds a solution.
