!0 and a half years ago my husband at age 65 received the Stage IV inoperable PC diagnosis and he opted not to have chemo. He wasn't up to the side affects. Almost immediately he started with pancreatic pain or belt pain as it is sometimes called because it travels in the area of the belt. We were advised to see a pain management doctor. We also had a good doctor who helped us with office and his nurse made home visits. He died 7 months later but still we were glad his every wish was granted and that he had the full support of everyone. We tried being a part of trials that were offered at Johns Hopkins and other facilities but every where we turned they said he was beyond the age requirement. Age is seriously considered when pancreatic cancer strikes. Everyone is different but in his case we feel he chose best despite the very sad outcome. I pray your mom does the best of all patients and that she surprises us all with fewer symptoms and great stamina. She's fortunate to have you researching and caring for her. Give her a hug for me and let her know I said a prayer for her today.
