I totally understand your frustration.

It is still ok to call, and at least ask for a nurse to call you back, but it is never enough....

We only saw the doctor once every 3 months during active treatment. That was just... not... enough.

So I gathered more people to help. Gastroenterologist to help with the nausea/gastroparesis/constipation/gas. Pain doctor to help... with the pain. Psychiatrist to help with the mood, sleep, depression and energy (that doctor was so great...). Primary care doctor to help the basics.... don't forget to check the iron levels, watch the diabetes, help with the leg swelling..... And finally....a palliative care doctor.

It is tiring to have a lot of doctors. But honestly, she didn't have many appointments with them. But we had someone else we could call... or email... who called back. And they knew the answers better than the oncologist many times.

Hang in there. And when you need to, simply call and move up your appointment.
