Had this same discussion with my wife today at dinner. I am 53 was diagnosed in January had the Whipple in February, scheduled for 5 days of SBRT radiation in May followed by 6 months of Chemo with Gemcitabine and Xeloda. I had a down day today even though things are going well. I explained to my wife I don't think there will ever be a day that I will not wake up scared. I am happy to be alive, happy that they caught it early enough for me to be operable, but I know what I have, and I will always be scared. Enjoy your time left with your mom, take care of her and yourself. eds
