Are you at a major academic research hospital? Are there PC experts there?

It is always helpful to get a second opinion.

Your husband seems to be on a reasonable treatment plan right now. But I agree that now is the perfect time to look at the clinical trials in your area.

I would also ask that a Palliative Care doctor join your treatment team, if you guys are fortunate enough to have that specialty in your cancer clinic. Everyone who has Stage 4 disease should have this help, as you are more likely to have more symptoms and side effects when the cancer has spread. Treating his symptoms like appetite/pain/depression/sleep problems are essential because they will improve his survival, improve his quality of life, and of course... help him feel better.
