My friend will soon be unable to work due to side effects from treatment for his pancreatic cancer. He is very worried about health insurance. To Cobra his current benefits would be financially impossible. He has no spouse to provide him with health care coverage. He has a small 401K. He has a small amount of equity in his home. He wsa told he does not qualify for Medicaid because he has too many assets. He was also told he cannot qualify for Medicare until he has been disabled for 18 months. So.......what is he to do for health insurance for those 18 months? Anyone else in this same situation? Thanks
