A very common symptom of PC or complication after whipple is gastroparesis. This is slow stomach emptying. It is due to injury of the nerves that control the stomach. It leads to back up of intestinal juices into the stomach, which can lead to irritation of the stomach, and there is often more reflux into the esophagus which also cause injury to the esophagus lining. My Mom developed gastritis (stomach inflammation) due to her gastroparesis, and some people develop ulcers. PPIs help to protect the stomach lining, decrease stomach pain/discomfort, and assist in tissue healing.

Common symptoms of gastroparesis can include reflux, decreased appetite/feeling full soon after you start eating, abdominal bloating, burping/gas, abdominal pain and discomfort and more. Symptoms can vary from person to person.
