You should be able to get infirmation on the number whipple surgeries done each year by possible HMO surgeons. Tryband get a figure of what is considered to be a reasonable amount in choosing. I would definitely change your HMO doctorvwhonfound nothing Wrong as you will need to have confidence in your doctors. Use any resources available to find the best surgeon and oncologist in your HMO. I would ask on PanCAn and maybe other groups in your area. Plan to use JHH for future review and see if you can find an oncologist open to their input as records can be reviewed electronically. NOTE it sounds like you have a lot on your plate with your wife's health,too, so see if there is a family member or a close friend who might help you in your research for a good health care team.
