I think in Stage 4, you are not so much as looking at a complete eradication of mets, but a way to get them into a remission or steady state of no more growth at a point. Our friend did have Folfironox 2.5 years ago for mets to both lungs and after 4 treatments it held them steady for two years. He had another bout of growth in the spring and it was decided to use a different combo, but aggressive every other week - not sure what was used, but again after six treatments, growth has been reduced in all nodes and blood work is back in normal range so once again watchful. Liver is a different site, but just to let you know that there are options in Stage 4 and this does not include the clinical trials.
