My husband was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer in 2-2014. He had a Whipple 3-2014, followed by chemo (GEMZAR). His CA 19-9 went down to 16 following all of that. CT scans were clear, no tumor. Within 7 months his CA 19-9 was over 7000, still no tumor via CT scan. He had additional chemo (Folfirinox), trying to reduce the CA 19-9. On February 29, 2016 he completed all 12 treatments, getting pancreatitis after the 12th. He recovered from that, his CA 19-9 went down to 49. By July 2016 his CA 19-9 was back up to 8000, but his CT Scan still does not show a tumor. Has anyone had the same experience? His doctors don't understand it and ordered a PET scan that will be done next week. Thank you, Mary
