Pancreas Cancer

What do I make of this? was posted 04/22/2016 03:54 pm by Akgirl

I have read that only 20% of pancreatic cancer patients live long enough to get ascites. I read that ascites with PC is due to something not working properly, in my mom's case most likely her liver because we know cancer had spread there. Fluid in abdomen is not really accumulating but she has fluid in legs again, particularly the right. Dr (surgeon who put in drain, not oncologist) says things look good and she should be able to get port removed soon. Do stage IV PC patients recover from ascites? She has other small signs of decline, but nothing obvious. I live thousands of miles away and am trying to figure out if I should go home for awhile or stay here. Any advice or input is appreciated.
