Even traveling to a new city is a challenge because of food. Last year I had a salad at a restaurant that resulted in a 3 day hospital stay. Never again will I eat at an unknown establishment. I thought my choice of salad would be safe. Now I know better.
Creon has helped the pain with eating but not the diarrhea. My issue is compounded by colitis so it has been very difficult to control.
What do you think happened to your body that you became diabetic besides the obvious (losing part of your pancreas)? I was on insulin for 2 days after surgery and thankfully my sugars went back to normal but I have had instances where my random BS runs a little high. I also worried about becoming diabetic and needing insulin. I find that very scary.
What type of incision do you have vertical or horizontal? I believe part of my core strength issue has to do with the horizontal incision that cuts muscle vs vertical which runs along the natural path of the muscle.
You are about 5y+ out? What is your protocol now for followup, every 6 months, yearly etc? So are you technically cancer free (not worry of recurrence free)? Do the passing years give you more confidence as you never to have to deal with this cancer again?
Thanks again for replying. It's good to know there is someone out there like
me. Unfortunately, most people have advanced disease and it's hard to find
commonality and they seem to be suffering so much more than me.
