Glad your husband is doing so well albeit a long, slow improvement. I got diagnosed at 49 in the height of my career and not what I was expecting my life would be. I was told I would be back at work in 3 months! Obviously that didn't happen. It's not that I am ungrateful but I I was clearly given such false information about recovery. As the other post wrote, it's trying to find something to give me purpose. I have been focused on recovering from one illness to the next, physical therapy and finding activity groups which provide fun and support. Recovering now from another bowel obstruction a few weeks ago followed by an episode of dehydration a few days ago. I swear it feels like it never ends. It's amazing that your husband is 82 and is able to be so active even with diabetes!!!!! I am grateful I am not diabetic cause I think that would put me over the edge. Thanks for sharing your story.
