My boyfriend who is 49 yrs old and in great shape got diagnosed this summer with PC. He's doing both Folforinox and Chemoeboization (4 sessions). I don't think it's the miracle solution as it's targeting just 1 tumour and 1 lymph node. PC is has rapid spread capability so I think CE could help shrink the primary tumour. I'm not a doctor and they don't believe in CE in canada for the pancreas. That being said, my boyfriend decided to do both at the same time. Luckily he's capable of enduring both (for now!). We have an appointment with the surgeon and the oncologist this week to see what they think of the results thus far. His goal was to try to see if CE can help get him to the stage where a whipple is possible. I don't believe it's curative and probably needs to be done in conjunction with other treatments. It's tough as each doctor works in their own silo. We feel like we're trying to build a house but there's no general contractor to guide us. I'll post back what the doctor's feedback is. While in Germany, with also met an oncologist that told us that should he be eligible for a whipple, we should get the surgeon to send a tissue sample to her. She would be able to create a vaccine from it to get his own immune system to fight the cancer. Does anyone know if this is currently being done in the US or in Canada? We all know of immunotherapy trials but I wanted to know if anybody knew about it being done with the patients tissue. Please write back if you have any feedback on that matter. Thank you
