I too had a whipple 13 years ago but stopped taking enzymes after 15 months as I was able to stabilize my weight and put on a few pounds. It really depends on the individual.

As for the stools - they are all over the place in terms of color, etc. You digestive system will never be the way it was but you will find a new normal. Just take notes and check with your doctor. Prior to the whipple I would have a stool every 2-3 days. Now it is 2-3 per day. Just the way it is now.
