Hi KW. Actually my dads lymph were so swollen he had difficulty eating and swallowing. But that was after first dose of GVAX. Then it all subsided. I looked it up in the trial protocols and even though it is rare, swollen lymphs are...guess what....part of the side effects. After all it is an attempt at activating your immune system and lymph nodes are where these immune cells come from. It subsided with my dads case, but then again, other issues have flared up....like abdominal pain which started with first shot of Gvax. They say the tumours get bigger before they get smaller so I'm thinking that the abdominal pain is due to increase in tumour size. Dad gets scan on 27 of October. Until then, it is a toss up whether this trial is working for him. Best of luck to your dad!!!!
