In the past, when we've needed help for aging parents, two resources have produced great results. One was patients at a nursing home...personal recommendations. Another was patients and staff in a physical rehab unit at a hospital. I would ask every professional you know who deals with home care, peripherally or directly, for their recommendations.

My father-in-law shares your grandmother's personality. He fought the idea every step of the way. In the end, among rotating staff, he found a few he really liked and they have stayed on.

I too share that same personality. It isn't easy to accept help...especially to have others controlling your life and home. It takes a lot of time and patience to make it work.
