WOW, Anonymous, what a fast, thoughtful, informative and gracious response.

What you have suggested is the basic approach I am taking with the oncologist, although I had never heard of a palliative care doc or thought of a cancer psychiatrist. No doubt in my mind, that finding an informed person to talk to would be an excellent step at this time.

You're right about the positive test results. I felt rather guilty posting, as so many others have reason to envy my results. I wonder at times if I am being childish about this, but to me, depression is a red flag that things are not as they should be.

I will follow your excellent advise, and would certainly appreciate hearing from others who might have ideas on how to proceed.
