Definitely some on this board travel to participate in trials, and some travel for their care/2nd opinions. What does the doctor say would be required for this trial, travel-wise?

For my Mom, we decided not to travel because it was just too exhausting for her and her disease was more advanced than your Dad's. But if a trial like this had been open to her, and the travel wasn't too frequent, I would have encouraged her to do it.

I would let your Dad decide. The trial is the most exciting of the two options, and likely the most tolerable. Let him decide if the traveling is too much.

And he can always try it, and then quit if it is too much.
