I had whipple surgery with horizontal incision vs vertical incision. Recovery has been difficult. It's been 14 months since the surgery and I still have little abdominal strength. I cannot sit up without rolling on side, I cannot lift my legs while lying dow, I have difficulty walking medium distances. I have to wear a brace to support my abdomen otherwise walking is extremely difficult. I have gone to PT. I have asked the drs numerous times why this is happened and been told to give it time but they have not stated that they knew of another patient with same complaints. Does ANYONE know of someone post whipple that had similar issues? I am desperately trying to figure out what happened so I know how to focus my PT and exercise program and have a sense if I will ever go back to my baseline. I was in excellent physical condition prior to the surgery. Thanks!!!
