My mother had the whipple 8 years ago. Had chemo and radiation before surgery and chemo after. Clear margins no nodes involved great report. Cancer came back last year. Inoperable back on chemo. Local recurrence. Doctors say it's rare but they also say this cancer is a beast. If she can, have your mom do the chemo. It's awful when it comes back. .
