Last friday a family member went into the hospital with jaundice and was diagnosed with inoperable pancreatic cancer. She has mets to the liver and bile duct obstruction with two failed stent placements. She has been put on hospice. She is in a lot of pain but won't take her pain medication because she doesn't want to build up a tolerance to it and not have it work when she really needs it. Any thoughts and what I can say to her?
