Well diagnosed in August of last year with Stage 4 met to the liver. My
oncologist was telling me that surgery may be possible. Did Forfirnox for 6
months...neuropathy hands and feet main lasting side effect and poor interest
in food. During the Forfinox lost 45 pounds. The goal according to my
Oncoligist was surgery...which gave me hope and the reason to go thru this
chemo, feeling not well all the time. Eating but lack of appetite. Gained
Well long story short the Forfirnox did a great job..two small spots on the
liver that have not grown since 2/27...and the pancreas shows a shadow. Cea
and Ca119 are within normal range. Well went to UCSF yesterday the surgeon
says that he will not do the surgery because maybe this is just scar
tissue...the Oncoligist wants me to stop chemo completely all summer without
any blood test until the end of Summer it seems.
Still reeling from this news and them washing their hands of any hope at all.
The Oncologist ordered Prozac which I started today.
Has anyone stopped chemo completely for this many months and had any positive
results in the end. Just so tired iof feeling ill...is it right to give up?
Hate to be doing this to my family...complaint s , anxious., depressed and
just notihingto do anything at all to fight this.
Again how long do people with Pancrreatic cancer go on a chemo break and

what they say.? I understand this if not covered by Medicare. So many tough
decisions. UCSF has no clinical trials that I would match up with.
An opinion from UCSF carries much weight. Has anyone
Very depressed and know that I am blowing what little time I might have.
Just want to hide in my bed and tire very easily.
