I saw the show too and yes, they did mention they have used it against other cancers BUT... they did not report any data about how many patients, what stage and what were the results. It was not clear if they used on patients with those types of cancers or just on those types of cancer cells in the lab.

Duke is in a first phase trial so generally they are smaller trials because they are really trying to figure out what the right dose is. You would have to contact Duke directly to see if they might even consider you for the study. While the initial information is promising, this new approach is years away from making it to the standard of care. Unfortunately, they have to prove so much to make sure it really does what it should and doesn't kill you that time is our enemy.
